How to remove a review on Amazon
A seller cannot delete an Amazon review. Here is what can be reported, what cannot, and where removal help starts.
To remove a review on Amazon, report it with a specific reason, using the report link under the review or a case with Seller Support. Amazon acts on reviews that break its guidelines, not on ones that are merely unfair. If you wrote the review yourself, you can delete it from your own reviews list. For the rest, Erase My Reputation quotes removal per review in writing.
Which Amazon reviews will Amazon remove?
Amazon removes reviews that break its Customer Review guidelines. It does not remove a review for being unfair or for lowering your rating. The grounds that matter in practice:
- Abusive or hateful content. Profanity, harassment, threats or discriminatory language.
- Content about the seller or shipping, not the product. Reviews are meant to describe the product. Comments only about delivery or seller service belong in seller feedback.
- Promotional or compensated reviews. Reviews written in exchange for payment, a refund or a gift, or written by someone with a connection to the seller or a competitor.
- Personal information. Names, phone numbers, addresses or other private details.
- Off-topic content. Text about a different product, or about matters unrelated to the item.
How does a seller report an Amazon review?
The route is reporting, with a specific reason. Amazon changes its screens over time, so use the labels you see in your account.
- Read the review against the guidelines. Decide which rule it breaks. A vague complaint about quality is not a ground.
- Use the report option beneath the review. Amazon shows a link such as Report abuse under each review. Choose the reason that fits.
- Open a case if you have a seller or brand account. Sellers can contact Seller Support, and brand owners enrolled in Brand Registry have a support route as well. Name the review, link it, and cite the guideline.
- Wait, then document. Amazon decides on its own timetable. Keep a record of what you sent and when.
- Fix the product issue. If the review points to a real problem, correcting the listing, the instructions or the product protects the next hundred buyers.
One firm rule. Do not offer a customer a refund, a gift or anything else in return for changing or deleting a review. Amazon prohibits it, and it can put your seller account at risk.
What if you wrote the review and want to delete it?
Reviewers can remove their own. Sign in to the account that posted the review, open your list of reviews, choose the one you want, and select the option to delete it. Amazon may take a short time to update the product page.
When does reporting fail?
Reporting fails when the review is negative but within the rules. A detailed one-star review about a real product flaw will usually stay. It also fails when the report is vague, or when the same reviewer's other reviews look genuine.
The cost of waiting is real. Reviews attach to the product listing, and a low-rated review near the top is read by shoppers deciding whether to buy.
Amazon removes reviews for what they say, not for what they cost you.
How does Erase My Reputation help with Amazon reviews?
Erase My Reputation handles the removal for the seller or brand. We assess the specific review first and tell you, before you spend anything, whether we expect to move it. Whether the review is fair, accurate or from a real customer does not decide that. Items we decline are never billed.
Amazon reviews sit outside our per-review price ladder for Google, Yelp and Trustpilot. They are quoted per item, in writing, before you commit. The work carries a deposit, and any accepted item still published 14 days after work begins is refunded in full. See the payment terms.
Timing is stated in the quote. Most reviews come down within 24 to 48 hours, and some take a little longer. The work is discreet, and we never name clients. For the review sites we do price by the review, see how much review removal costs, or read how to remove a Trustpilot review.
